This song was written shortly after the 9/11/01 attacks on the World Trade Center. This was an extremely emotional time for many Americans, and I found the media coverage of the attack to be very inflammatory, meant to capitalize on the anger and fear that was so prevalent at the time. People were looking for something or someone to blame, and I feared that many Americans would be incensed by the media coverage and lash out blindly.
